A Maine School Superintendent Just Resigned Over Allegations She Assaulted a Child
According to WGME 13, a Maine superintendent is now a former Maine superintendent following the school board's unanimous acceptance of her resignation.
The news station reports that embattled Oxford Hills superintendent, Doctor Monica Henson, had submitted her resignation to the school board for consideration following last year's allegations that she assaulted a student.
WGME says that Henson has been on paid administrative leave since January of this year following an altercation where she allegedly grabbed a student and pulled him into an office. The altercation caused the student to fall down subsequently causing Henson to fall on top of him. The incident occurred at Agnes Grey Elementary School in September of 2021.
According to WGME, at the time the incident was brought to light, Henson said in part that she used "a limited restraint technique for a loudly disruptive student so as not to allow disruption of an entire hallway of classrooms."
