A Symphony Will Play the ‘Music of Harry Potter’ Live in Old Orchard Beach, Maine, This July
For many fans of all things Harry Potter, they'll tell you it's not just a hobby, it's a lifestyle. Harry Potter fandom is no joke, spurring conventions, speciality gift stores, and even a dinner theatre here in Maine. But for fans who want to close their eyes and use their imagination to visit Hogwarts, there's a one-night-only event coming to Old Orchard Beach in July that's just for you.
The Portland Symphony Orchestra, along with special guest conductor Morihiko Nakahara, plan to take guests on a journey through their favorite Harry Potter films. The PSO will feature key pieces of the score from the movie franchise that fans know and love. If you can't actually make it to Hogwarts, perhaps you can convince your brain that you've been transported there.
This one-night-only concert with the Portland Symphony Orchestra is happening at the Seaside Pavilion in Old Orchard Beach on Saturday, July 8. The Seaside Pavilion is a smaller venue, and tickets are limited for this event.
Don't forget, if the music of Harry Potter isn't enough wizardry for you, there's another huge event at Fort Knox in Prospect, Maine this July as well.
Shared on Facebook by Friends of Fort Knox, there will be Wizarding day at the Fort in 2023. Hopeful wizards are invited to try their hand at a treasure hunt around the Fort, searching for ancient artifacts. There will be a space for wizards to practice their incantations, and another for those looking to try their hand at potion mixing, all while guarding against any potential evil lurking nearby.
