Keep your cool; it looks like having a temper may increase your risk of having a heart attack or stroke. Researchers have noticed that rage often precedes an attack AND may be the trigger. I was reading on this morning that U.S. researchers say they have noticed a dangerous period of about two hours following an outburst when people were at an increased risk. They also pointed out study is needed to understand the link.  They would also need to examine if stress-reducing strategies could avoid such complications.

Don’t get too worried just yet. If you get upset now and then, it probably is not that big of a risk. But if you are the type of person who gets hot under the collar on a regular basis, then maybe you do have something to worry about. An anger response caused physical changes and over time that might cause bigger problems. Researchers are thinking the risk is cumulative and might take more of a toll on your body. Yes, yes… more study needs to be done, but clearly something to think about!
