Augusta’s ‘Operation Warm’ Aims to Provide Winter Clothes to Kids
Let's face it, winter in Maine can be absolutely brutal. And even with the proper outerwear it can still be absolutely brutal. Now imagine having to go through a Maine winter without the proper warm-weather gear.
For thousands of Maine kids, that is an unfortunate reality every winter here in the Pine Tree State. Fortunately, there are several non-profit organizations all around Maine that seek to bridge the gap between families in need and warm winter clothing.
One of those organizations is Greater Augusta Back To School Programs. They have teamed up with Operation Warm and several area retailers to bring warm coats, hats, mittens and more to area kids. And the best part? You don't even have to do the shopping!
All you have to do is make a cash donation to the program and they will handle the rest. According to their website,
