About a week ago we told you about a weekend fire that had broken our overnight at beloved Whitefield restaurant, Aunt Gin's. Well, just over a week later and some photos of the damage have been released by the owners to the restaurants Facebook page.

Days after the fire, investigators determined that the fire had been caused by an electrical malfunction. While crews were able to save the structure itself, there was considerable damage done to the inside by excessive smoke and water.

The pictures you are about to see show some of the damage to the bar area, kitchen and part of the main dining room. If you've ever been to Aunt Gin's you'll recognize just how severe the damage is. We certainly wish owners Steve & Wyatt the best as they attempt to recover from these tragic events.

***ORIGINAL STORY FOLLOWS***

With everything going on in the world right now, being  a small business owner certainly has its difficulties- Especially the restaurant industry.

Well, over the weekend, things got even harder for one local establishment. Aunt Gin's restaurant on Route 17 in Whitefield caught fire in their kitchen during the night on Friday.

According to the restaurant's Facebook page, crews were able to save the building and get the fire extinguished. However, due to the fire, the restaurant will remain closed for the time being.

There is no word yet on the extent of the damage or how long Aunt Gin's will remain closed for. Our thoughts go out to the owners and certainly hope this is just a minor setback and that they're able to come back quickly.

We will continue to provide updates on this story as they become available.

There was a fire at the restaurant during the night. No details yet, but we are closed for the time being.

Thank you very much to the fire crews (from 5 towns) who came out to help us today.
