Bananas May Be the ‘Go To’ Crop of the Future

As the world is looking at more and more climate change, that will affect what crops can be grown and where.  While some things may be harder to grow, it looks like bananas will have more options on where they can be “native”.

Those in the know predict that the world's three biggest crops in terms of calories provided, corn, rice and wheat, will drop in many developing countries. Potatoes may have a harder time because they like cooler weather to grow. So that means other crops like the banana can thrive in places it had not been able to before. Since there are different varieties of bananas that can be used in many ways, the mighty banana can be a food staple. Other types of crops around the world are also seeing changes as our world population grows and there is a need for more food.
