It's that surreal week between Christmas and New Years where life isn't normal. The kids are home from school, yet work continues but in many places at a slower pace as many take the week off. This week is sort of like a seasonal hangover.

Do you have a birthday this week or better yet for the sake of the discussion on Christmas Day? If you do, is there a separation in celebration or do you feel like your day is just added value or an afterthought? I'm curious for answers.

With focus on Christmas over, now my wife's birthday hits me in the face as it always does a day or two after. What to do? I know from my experience, birthdays around the holidays get sadly stuffed in a corner at times. Luckily Lynn's birthday is January 1st as I get paid tomorrow.

New Years Day in our house isn't New Years day, it's Lynn's birthday. No technically she isn't the Lewiston "New Year Baby" but she is runner up. We always used to joke when they were in business that I'd love to take her to Newick's on her birthday, but they were always closed on 01/01 so she was ineligible for the free birthday meal.

All Lynn said she wanted for her birthday this year was dinner out at Chickadee. The thing is, that would be just as much for me as it would be for her.

I probably shouldn't say this out loud but Lynn doesn't read my posts. She says gets enough of me at home so why read and listen. There is almost no worries when it comes to writing this.  I need to come up with a gift. She referenced wanting an Alex and Ani bracelet. Where in Central Maine or Lewiston/Auburn can you find those?

I saw at the Maine Mall they sell them in select stores including The Paper Store. I'm guessing The Paper Store has them at the Marketplace at Augusta if they do at the Maine mall. Any locations in Lewiston/Auburn?

Happy Birthday if yours falls on this week.
