Body Found Buried In Norway
According to a press release from Maine Public Safety spokesperson Stephen McCausland, a body was recovered in the town of Norway today (September 17th).
The body, believed to be that of a woman, was located by detectives and evidence technicians conducting a search in the backyard of 239 Harrison Road.
According to the press release, the woman, believed to be in her 80s, probably passed away 12-18 months ago. She may have lived in a mobile home on the property.
The remains were taken to the State Medical Examiner's office in Augusta. An autopsy will be conducted on Wednesday. Investigators will now look to the medical examiner’s office for a positive identification, along with cause of her death.
The Maine State Police were assisted by Norway Police and several other agencies.
