Here’s How You Can Order a ‘Matt James Special’ @ The Windsor Fair
I'm not really an expert of anything, admittedly. However, there are a couple things that I know a fair amount about and will sometimes flex my knowledge on. One of those things is Boston Celtics statistics and the other is, of course, chicken tenders.
You often hear us talking on the radio about how the 'only thing' I eat is chicken tenders and fries. And well it's true that I do consume my 'fair' share, it's not ALL I eat. I have also been known to dabble in fluffernutters and breakfast sandwiches as well.
However, when we talk about my limited pallet, it really is all true. I've never had pizza, a burger, a steak, lasagna, Shepard's Pie, hot dogs, soup, alfredo... the list goes on and on of foods I've never even tasted. And, now that I'm a little older, I actually think I have a diagnosable case of ARFID- but that's a story for another time.
My whole point here is that I do fancy myself an expert when it comes to chicken tenders. So much so, that a local (and very popular) food truck has actually named a menu item after me.
Last year during Camp Out Hunger, our massive food drive for the Salvation Army, the Bowlicious Food Truck came to hang out for the week and sell their delectable bites and smoothies.
During that week, I learned that Bowlicious also does up some wicked-good crunchy chicken strips and thick golden fries. After ordering it every day for 5 days, Toby (the owner) asked me if they could name the meal after me. I was floored.
And so it was born, the 'Matt James Tender Special'. It's been on their menu since last November and I can't tell you how many times I've been tagged by friends in pictures of their menu.
So if you would like to try a bite of me this week, you can do so right here at the Windsor Fair. Head in through gate 2 (the main gate) bang a right and Bowlicious will be just down on your right.
Tell them Matt sent ya!
