UPDATE: Brunswick Standoff Peacefully Resolved
According to News Center Maine , the incident involving this morning's standoff in Brunswick has been peacefully resolved and authorities have taken the man into custody. Residents are now free to leave their homes and go about their days as normal.

There is an armed standoff involving a man with a rifle at the former Naval base. Authorities indicate it is critical for people in the area of Neptune Drive to stay inside their homes
The standoff began early Monday after a report came in at around midnight for a domestic disturbance at 744 Neptune Drive.
The man's wife and child were successfully removed from their second-floor unit safely. The man is now believed to be the only person inside.
Brunswick Police Commander of Patrol Tom Garrepy said authorities have been unsuccessful in their attempts to make any contact with the man.
Authorities have tried using a drone, loudspeaker and even went so far as to set off an explosion on the first floor.
