Breast Cancer Breakthrough Made In Maine
According to the Bangor Daily News, University of New England pharmacy professor Srinidi Mohan has received a patent for his breakthrough in breast cancer detection.
His work involves a blood marker than can be used to detect aggressive tumors. He says his research can be used to create a low-cost test for early detection, measuring progression, and determining whether or not treatment is effective.
His work could do wonders to help the 60,000 women in the U. S. diagnosed with tumors each year.
