Thieves Jack Single Mom’s Car Right from Her Auburn Driveway

Hardworking, kind, and resilient, single mom, Sam Sturgis from Auburn never imagined that someone would steal her only means of transportation, her car.

She relies on her Nissan Xterra to work and get herself and her daughter around.

But now, thanks to some brazen thieves her vehicle was stolen right out of her parking spot in front of her home. If you have ever had anything stolen from your home, you know how this feels and what a terrible invasion of privacy.

Car theft has been on the rise in Central Maine, and this latest incident took place in the parking lot behind the Androscoggin Village Apartments, just off Center Street in Auburn.

Here’s a description of Sam’s vehicle

The car also has a missing sideboard on the driver’s side. If you spot this vehicle, please contact the authorities at Auburn Police Department immediately. Do not approach the people driving the vehicle.

Sam told me that the thieves reportedly broke into several other vehicles, stealing from them, but when they found Sam's spare key, they took off with her car.
