2016 Central Maine Memorial Day Parades And Ceremonies
Monday, May 30 is Memorial Day and many Mainers will take the time to either watch or participate in their hometown parades and ceremonies. We have put together a list of area parades and ceremonies in central Maine.
Augusta: Monday, May 30th at Old Fort Western a Memorial Day Remembrance & Community Covenant Signing Ceremony at 1p.m.
Waterville: Parade starting at 10:30 a.m. beginning at the Head of Falls and ending at the Veterans' Memorial Park.
Fairfield: Parade begins at 11 a.m.
Monmouth: Parade starts at Custom Hall and continues down Main Street starting at 10:30 a.m.
Bangor: Parade begins at 10:15 a.m. on Exchange Street.
Dexter: Parade starts at 10 a.m. from the Bangor Savings Bank parking lot and proceeds down Main Street.
Dover-Foxcroft: American Legion Post 29 Parade starts at 10 a.m. on Summer Street.
Greenville: Parade starts at noon from the American Legion Hall with a ceremony at the cemetery after the parade.
Jackman: Parade starts at 10 a.m. at the Jackman Town Office. There's a free luncheon at the American Legion after the parade.
Durham: Parade starts at 10 a.m. on Davis Road. There is also a 5k fun run to benefit the AMVETS Post 13.
Topsham and Brunswick: There will be an observance at 8:45 a.m. at Monument Place in Topsham. Followed by a parade that will proceed to Brunswick.
Lewiston-Auburn: Parade is Saturday, May 28th starting at 9:30 from Kennedy Park and will cross the bridge to the Great Falls Plaza in Auburn and return to Lewiston's Veterans Park with a ceremony at 10:30 a.m.
