Chelsea, Palermo, Windsor, Whitefield Schools to Require Masks
In an email that went out to parents Thursday morning from RSU 12 Superintendent, Howard Tuttle, it was expressed that the School Board had approved a measure requiring masks to be worn indoors at all times 'regardless of vaccination status'.
Additionally, parents can opt in to have their children participate in intermittent pool testing that will begin later in the fall. This announcement comes as schools all around Maine and the country grapple with how to handle the upcoming school year. Many schools, especially in Maine, that had previously announced an optional masking policy have now changed course to a required guideline.
It's no secret that guidelines and mandates involving school-aged children has been a hot topic for parents and school administrators alike. Each day it seems new video surfaces of flaring tempers and heated debates at school board meetings around the country.
Below is the letter that went out Thursday morning from RSU 12.
