Lost Dog Found Safe After Maine Home Invasion
Good news in the middle of a wild week in Glenburn: Rosie, the 9-year-old English mastiff who went missing during a shooting and home invasion earlier this month, is finally back with her family. WGME 13 reports Rosie lost about 18 pounds while surviving on her own, but she’s otherwise in good health.
The chaos started on August 3, around 3:10 p.m., on Danforth Drive. Deputies say three men wearing ski masks, George Overlock, 36, of Carmel, Raphael Cupidon, 22, of Massachusetts and a third, still unidentified suspect, allegedly opened fire on a woman’s home and vehicle. Overlock allegedly drove the getaway vehicle while Cupidon and another suspect ran off when the truck slowed on Finson Road, the news station reported.
Overlock eventually abandoned the vehicle and allegedly broke into a home on Lake View Road to hide from police. It was during that break-in that Rosie got away. Thankfully, no homeowners were hurt. Meanwhile, police dogs tracked Cupidon to a hiding spot under a mobile home.
WGME went on to report that search warrants in Bangor and Hampden led to the seizure of half a kilo of drugs and two handguns, though no one inside the home was injured. Deputies later caught the fleeing suspects in a truck on Union Street in Hermon. Overlock reportedly tried to flee again, leading police through Bangor streets.
Overlock faces a long list, including aggravated drug trafficking, burglary, resisting arrest, and more.
Cupidon is charged with aggravated drug trafficking and refusing to submit to arrest.
