What an incredible first day here at Camp Out Hunger in the Sam's Club parking lot here in Augusta. We saw so many amazing people come and drop off non-perishable food donations for the Salvation Army and monetary donations for Central Maine food banks.

In addition to seeing all of your smiling (masked) faces today we had a special visit from Ed Goff and company at Fast Eddie's Express Car Wash to present the check from all the money raised at the haunted car wash. They said they would send $5 from every car that went through to the cause at Camp Out Hunger. Well, we had estimated maybe a few thousand dollars- which would have been incredible! But, when they turned that giant check around this morning for us to see, there wasn't a dry eye here.

Fast Eddie's presented a check totaling $7,078.15 to COH! This was the most amazing thing ever. This money will reach so many families in Central Maine that are in need this winter. This is more than just a cash donation- this is hot food on the table for so many living in our communities. I think I speak for everyone involved when I say THANK YOU SO MUCH FAST EDDIE'S!

We can't wait to see what the rest of this week will bring. Remember, we are here around the clock through Saturday afternoon. Help us fill these U-Haul trucks to the brim with non-perishable food for these communities.

Let's do this!!
