New Scandinavian-Style Bakery in Maine Serves Up Good Vibes and Unique Pastries
Calling all foodies and lovers of sweets who need a well-deserved break!
According to the City of Saco, Kristina Alving and Samuel Wiese are offering something unique to our beautiful state in the form of Scandinavian-style food with the recent opening of their new bakery, Fika!
The new spot is located at 17 Storer Street in Saco and everyone is celebrating this new venture.
According to a Facebook announcement from the City of Saco, "Fika" is a Swedish notion that means more than just "coffee break." Kristina and Samuel elaborated on this saying that it's more like a relaxing pause followed by coffee and pastries.
Think of it as a way to savor the moment and carve out a second in your day for self-indulgence.
As the post states, their menu is filled with yummy surprises like the Edible Maine-famous cardamom bun, focaccia, and pistachio olive oil cake! I am dying to try their Norwegian toast, and an ancient grains bowl. My mouth is watering.
This is the epitome of European chic! Kudos to this new venture for taking advantage of such a needed and unique concept.
