According to the Kennebec Journal, The University of Maine Cooperative Extension 4-H along with the Maine Primitive Skills School and the Sportsman Alliance of Maine are going to be offering a new monthly outdoor education program right here in Augusta.

This new program will be free and be available for one adult and one youth per family as they strive to maintain proper COVID-19 protocol. The new program is geared towards those Mainers who want to learn more about birds and their habitats, ecology of Maine, building and maintaining outdoor fires along how to safely spend time in the Maine outdoors.

Program dates will be 3-5 PM on January 31st, February 28th, March 28th and April 25th. Participants are asked to bring their own camp chairs, snacks and water. The program will take place at 2273 North Belfast Avenue in Augusta. Those interested in participating in the program can visit extension.umaine.edu to sign up. Due to COVID capacity is limited.
