Gardiner Men Ram Each Other in Street with Truck & Tractor
Sometimes I write headlines for my story and I think to myself, 'only in Maine would I be able to write something like this'.
According to the KJ two Gardiner men were arrested on Monday after allegedly ramming each other in the street with a pickup truck and a tractor, respectively. Police responded to a possible protection order violation and found the two men on Ledgewood Lane ramming each other in the street. Police drew weapons and ordered the men to shut the engines off.. after several requests, they finally complied.
The guy driving the tractor was 63-year-old Robert Wilson and he was subsequently sentenced to 30 days in jail on Tuesday after pleading guilty to operating under the influence and reckless conduct. His driver’s license was also suspended for 150 days and in addition to that he was also made to pay a $500 fine and $185 in other fees.
The other guy who was driving the truck in the altercation, 62-year-old Preston Cates, was also arrested on charges of reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon and criminal mischief, though he was released on bail Monday night.
