We've been talking about how much money was raised at this year's Camp Out Hunger Food Drive at Sam's Club in Augusta, but haven't talked a whole lot about the quantity of food that was donated. That's partially because it is up to the Salvation Army to make that determination and until we made it over there to drop the food off over the weekend, we weren't quite sure. Well, now we are!

Today on the Moose Morning Show, Captain Scott Murray of the Capital Region Salvation Army joined us in studio to announce the food totals that YOU made happen. I mean it when I say get the tissues ready because it is crazy.

Because of the outpouring of generosity from Central Maine, you helped raise 38,000 pounds of food with an estimated retail value of $120,000.00. Take just a moment, as we had to this morning, and let that sink fully in. Just think about the sheer number of families here in our area that this food will help feed. Think about the sheer life-changing power contained in a simple food donation. The entire thing is truly humbling. Thank you all so much for everything you have done for this drive. And, as I ALWAYS say, NEVER think that your donation is too small. There is literally no such thing.
