Google Taught Me About Hip Hop And DJing
Not normally a fan of being schooled by Google first thing in the morning, but this morning was different. Click on the Google logo today (Friday August 11) to learn about the history of hip hop and learn how to be a hip hop DJ!
According to Google.com, today marks the 44th anniversary of the birth of hip hop. According to them, hip hop was born on August 11th, 1973, when DJ Kool Herc first used two turntables to extend the instrumental break of dance tracks at a back to school party he was DJing. A few short years later, MCs began laying downing rhyming vocals over those breaks. The rest is history!
Once you get through the video on the history of hip hop, you get to play DJ on a set of turntables.
