Here’s How Much Snow Central Maine is Going to Get on Tuesday & Tuesday Night
You didn't really think we were going to get through the rest of winter without any more significant snowfall did you? Yeah, neither did we.
Now, it looks like we're going to get several storm systems that move through the New England area this week. And, while we did have a few inches in some places yesterday (Sunday), that wasn't actually one of the storms we've been watching.
Nope, it looks like we're going to get snow Tuesday, Thursday and likely on Friday / Saturday, too. Don't believe me? Look at this handy dandy info graphic from the peeps over at WGME 13.
It looks like the first mess of snow, the Tuesday storm, isn't going to move in until the wee hours of the morning on Tuesday. However, it does look like, at least for Central Maine, the commute on Tuesday should be relatively okay. The snow begins to move in to the Lewiston/Auburn area sometime around 4:30 in the morning and spread across Central Maine from there.
Temperatures on Tuesday will be fairly seasonable with most of us in mid to upper twenties. The good thing about that is that it should make the Tuesday snowfall mostly light, fluffy and powdery.
As far as snow totals go, it's not going to be a massive amount of snow, but it will be plowable. The majority of Central Maine will get out of this one with about 5-8 inches of the white stuff according to WGME. Northern areas will actually see a little bit less in their area. But, this WILL be a decent storm for most of Maine's ski areas!
