I wish I had known this little tidbit before I went on vacation and stayed on one of the upper floors of our hotel because it could have, selfishly, saved us a little time AND it's kind of neat (if it works)

In planes, it's costs more money to upgrade to first class and get served first. On (most) elevators, all it takes is this little trick: Press and hold your floor button and the close door button for 7 to ten seconds.

What happens: The elevator will bypass the other floors whether buttons are pressed or not and land on your floor. First class service.

While this won't work in all elevators it will in most, apparently. Give it a try. You've got nothing to lose!
