When Connor was just a toddler he and his family received heartbreaking news. Connor has Chiari Malformation.

Put simply, Chari is when the brain is too big for the skull and, as you can imagine, is incredibly painful. There is currently no cure but there are surgeries and treatments that can help alleviate some of the pain and symptoms.

On October 16th Connor will be heading to New York City for his 6th brain and 5th spinal surgery. Connor and his family are hoping for some relief after this surgery. Connor has been struggling with intense pain as of late and hasn't been able to enjoy being a normal 6-year-old.

This Halloween Connor will be recovering from his surgery and again is missing out on something that would make him feel like a kid, trick-or-treating. His Mom, Erika, wanted to give him that experience and the Augusta community is stepping up.

Thursday, October 10th, just days before surgery, is Connor's very own Trunk or Treat event. Texas Roadhouse in Augusta will be hosting in their parking lot from 5 pm to 7 pm.

Because Connor has such a big heart, especially for animals, he would love it if guests would bring pet food and new blankets to donate to the Kennebec Valley Humane Society. Donations will also be accepted to help offset costs of travel and living while Connor is recovering. Everyone that donates will receive a coupon for a free appetizer from Texas Roadhouse.

To make this event the biggest pre-Halloween party Augusta has ever seen and to make sure Connor gets his trick-or-treating experience, please mark your calendars to attend! If you or your family would like to volunteer to help or pop open your trunk to give out candy call Erika at 207-557-1896. Otherwise, bring your kids and enjoy the fun! Police cars, firetrucks, music, and more will be there. Keep up to date on what to expect by following the Facebook event page here.
