If you have snowmobiles and they are registered in Maine, New Hampshire or Vermont you can go exploring this weekend, January 25 to 28, 2013!  ‘Reciprocal Snowmobile Weekend’ is on now until Sunday and allows all legally registered Maine snowmobiles to be operated in New Hampshire and Vermont without being registered in those states. As you might guess, snowmobiles legally registered in New Hampshire and Vermont can be operated in Maine without a current Maine registration.

However, please, no matter where you go on your sleds, be safe and remember all those safety things you know you should do but sometimes let slip. It has been dangerously cold, so make sure if you are going out you really are prepared.

Of course there is always the worries about ice. The Maine Warden Service reminds snowmobilers to ride with caution at all times and to pay close attention to ice conditions on all Maine waterways, especially when traveling at night.
