The Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) Holiday Train is returning to Maine this November, bringing holiday lights, live music and an opportunity to support local food banks to three communities across the state.

According to CPKC, the annual Holiday Train program will kick off November 19 in Montreal, beginning a 32-day journey with stops in 182 communities.

An article on the WABI website explains that the train will make its first Maine stop in Jackman on Saturday, November 21, at 7:45 PM on Walton Street.  It will continue to Hermon on Sunday, November 22, with a stop at the Coldbrook Road crossing at 4:15 PM.  The train's final Maine appearance will take place later that evening at 9 PM at the Greenville Junction Depot in Greenville.

The artists scheduled to perform during the stops in Maine include American Authors and Rafaelle Roy.  Personally, I am really excited that American Authors are one of the acts coming through our area.  The band is originally from the Boston area and is best known for their song "Best Day of My Life".

Visitors are encouraged to bring cash donations or non-perishable food items to benefit local food banks.

CPKC President and CEO Keith Creel said the railroad takes pride in bringing the Holiday Train to communities throughout its network to help people experiencing food insecurity.  He also said that this year's journey will extend farther south than ever before, with the train visiting 10 communities in Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Missouri for the first time.

Creel added that donations from the thousands of families and fans who attend the events help local food banks while spreading holiday cheer and encouraging generosity.

The CPKC Holiday Train has become an annual tradition that combines seasonal entertainment with community giving, allowing attendees to enjoy the festivities while helping neighbors facing food insecurity.
