A new athletic field at Jefferson Village School was vandalized. Not vandalized in the traditional sense with graffiti but by someone driving all over it.

Police are investigating the matter and trying to find out who is responsible for the damage to the field.

Peter Gallace the Principal of Jefferson Village School is rather upset, calling it a setback in having the field open for the school and community. Gallace also thinks it was a small truck that tore up the field.

The field is being repaired as best it can costing be at a cost of one to two thousand dollars.

The incident happened Friday night into Saturday morning.

This isn’t the first time the field has been vandalized; a couple of years ago glass was found buried under the topsoil.

Gallace is considering adding a fence and or video surveillance so this kind thing doesn’t happen again.
