The Kool-Aid Man is Getting a Makeover

One of mascots from our childhood is getting a makeover. The Kool-Aid Man soon will be transformed in a new series of commercials with a new personality and a new look.

The Kool-Aid Man first appeared in 1954. The last big makeover of the iconic character occurred in in 2000.

The new character will be computer-generated and have the personality of a celebrity trying to show he's just a normal guy. What? No more crashing through walls yelling, "Oh Yeah!" Well, they won't give that up!

Why the change now? In 2012 their sales were down 5 percent and that follows a 4 percent drop the previous year.
