Lost Art in Lewiston, Maine: Can We Help This Portrait Find Its Home?
A call for action has emerged on a local Facebook group, where a Lewiston resident is hoping to reunite beautiful piece of artwork with its rightful owner or even their family.
The resident posted on Lewiston Rocks Facebook Page with a photo.
It's a black and white sketched portrait of an unknown woman and was found outside of Trinity Church in Lewiston, near the donation table.
The portrait is signed "Mik" and dated 2021, it's a striking art piece of a beautiful woman, that clearly required effort, skill, and talent.

My thoughts are because it was only a few years ago, that the owner, hopefully, will not have gone far.
What did the Facebook Post say about the mysterious portrait?
"I found this artwork in Lewiston at the Trinity Church outside by the donations table. I would love to find the owner or family of the owner to give this artwork to them. I know this would have taken a long time and a lot of hard work. If I can't find the owner or family of the owner to this, I would then like to find somebody that would like to take it home for free for themselves to put up somewhere and appreciate. I unfortunately already have SO much artwork I am wanting to put up in my new apartment; I just don't have the space for this one. I know there's somebody out there that can appreciate this as much as me, if not more."
The person who found this portrait promises to hold onto it for 14 days in hopes that the owner or someone who recognizes it comes forward.
After the 2 weeks, if the owner isn't found, they plan to gift the artwork to someone who will cherish it.
