When it comes to making public threats against people, it's highly advised NOT to make threats against the President of The United States, regardless of how you feel politically.

Federal law enforcement is always searching the internet for threats against officials including the President. They do this by monitoring social media platforms and searching for specific keywords that are often used in online threats.

According to an article published by the Kennebec Journal, a Waterville, Maine man was recently taken into custody by the Federal Bureau of Investigation for this very thing.

The KJ is reporting that 45-year-old. Benjamin Brown, of Spring Street, Waterville, has been using the comment section on YouTube videos to make threats against different people ranging from immigrants, elected officials and even President Biden.

The FBI says that Brown was allegedly making comments about hoarding weapons in preparation for a United States civil war.

The arrest affidavit says that Brown made comments back in February of 2021 that said in part,

“I have thought an awful lot about killing Joe Biden!! I can’t wait for a revolution so we can burn Washington to the (expletive) ground!!!”

The most recent threats, allegedly made in February of this year, included Brown posting online that he would be hunting and shooting immigrants and that nobody could stop him- not even the FBI or local police forces.

The FBI said in part about Brown during an attempt to make contact with him through a door at his residence prior to being arrested,

“The male also said that he did not own a gun and that he would only defend himself if he was threatened. The male believed to be Brown said he would stop posting on YouTube so the agents would not have to come back. The male also acknowledged that agents had admonished him before about making threats,”
