Maine is the Drunkest State

Maine doesn't lead the nation in many categories but we have come out on top in this new survey on what states drink the most alcohol. The study was conducted by Blowfish, a company that manufactures a hangover cure supplement. They surveyed over 5,000 Americans over the age of 21 and used also additional sales data on alcoholic beverages.

Maine comes out first. Wyoming, Alaska, Delaware and Washington D.C. round out the Top 5.

The average American says they consume 277 alcoholic beverages a year, however Blowfish results show that they’re drinking nearly four times that, over 800 beverages per person per year.
