Maine is Near the Bottom When it Comes to Doctors
Another day, another state-by-state ranking, this time it's a ranking on where Maine sits when it comes to doctors.
We don’t do too well according to a study done by WalletHub. We rank 5th from the bottom when it comes to recruiting doctors.
The report says much of the reason has to do with salary, number of people per doctor and malpractice suits.
The states below Maine are, New York, Oregon, New Jersey and Rhode Island. The best states for Doctors are, South Carolina, Minnesota and Texas.
The criteria WalletHub in part used, was data on relative pay, malpractice insurance costs, numbers of hospitals and insured population rates.
Strangely or not so strangely, this story comes out on 'National Doctor Day'.
