This year sure has caused a significant amount of chaos for our annual events here in Maine. One of things that impacted many Maine families was the postponement of Springtime's Maine Maple Sunday. But worry not, the event has been rescheduled into an entire weekend of fun and it's right around the corner.

We spoke with Scott Dunn, President of the Maine Maple Producers Association about some upcoming events. It all begins with a recipe contest that will be judged by a live panel on October 9th. You can even begin submitting your recipes now at the Maine Maple Producers website.

On October 10th kicks off Maine Maple Producers weekend where maple producers all around the state open their doors and start welcoming tours and providing samples to Mainers and their families. Things will still look a little different though because of the mandates that are in place due to COVID-19. Make sure you check with your local sugarhouses to see if they have the space for, and are allowing, tours of their facility.

For all your Maine Maple questions and to find a sugarhouse near you, just click in to the Maine Maple Producers website and start searching for some fun near you. Below you can have a listen to our interview with Scott Dunn as he talks all about Maine's Maple heritage and how you can get involved in this year's festivities.
