A Maine mom and two of her sons were injured in an ATV accident on Dingle Hill Road that happened in Byron, Maine on Monday morning, according to WGME.

The news station is reporting that the woman was riding an ATV down to the bus stop with her two sons on board as passengers. While riding down the road the ATV struck a ditch and flipped over.

As the ATV flipped over, one of the woman's sons was thrown clear of the wreck while the other son and his mom landed underneath the overturned all-terrain vehicle. At that time, the boy that was thrown clear bolted down the road for help.

The boy soon returned with three men who quickly pulled the overturned ATV off the woman and young boy.

After the pair was rescued, the mother and both her sons were transported to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston where WGME says they are being treated and are expected to survive their injuries.

This is a developing story and we will continue to keep it updated as more information becomes available to us either from WGME or from the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries & Wildlife.
