Maine State Police Honor 100 Years With Special Edition Cruisers

The men and women in blue have been serving as our Maine State Police force for 100 years and to honor the milestone they are releasing nine limited edition throwback cruisers.

According to the agency's Facebook Page, with the coming of the 100th year the Maine State Police will be doing things to honor all those officers who served before them. 100 years ago the Maine State Police looked a little bit different than it does now. In 1921 the MSP consisted of only a couple dozen officers all of whom had limited roles. Fast forward to today and their are hundreds of officers that provide a massive variety of services to the Maine public.

Maine State Police will be releasing nine of the special blacked out marked cruisers this year. Why nine? Each one represents one of the Maine State Police troops around the state. In addition to being blacked out and marked, the cruisers will also feature the original insignia of the Maine State Police including the black and orange plates that were used in 1921.

Maine State Police say these vehicles will perform a normal service life and be on the road even after 2021. Additionally they add that these nine cruisers were already part of the MSP fleet and were not added purchases just for this purpose.
