By now there's no doubt that you've heard through the grapevine that New England may likely need to brace for one of our classic Nor'easter storms over the holiday and Black Friday.

But do we really? Well, the short answer is, we just don't know.

We don't know because in typical New England weather fashion, this storm could take one of several different paths.

However, there are a couple super-likely scenarios that meteorologists with the National Weather Service are following.

According to the Kennebec Journal, the large storm in question could remain on track for a direct hit to New England. If that were the case and the temps were to remain low enough, places like Maine and New Hampshire could end up with several inches of mountain and interior snow while Central and Coastal communities would likely see buckets of rain.

However, as is usually the case, this could all be much ado about nothing as another forecast model shows the very same storm bangin' a right and heading out to sea without drastic impacts to Northern New England at all.

But, which case is more likely?

Well, according to a snippet from the newspaper article,

Michael Ekster, senior forecaster at the Gray station, said the weather service was more confident by 7 p.m. than earlier Monday that there would be a Thanksgiving snowfall, but he said a more definitive forecast would likely come Tuesday afternoon.

Basically, at least for now, this is a wait and see kind of forecast. Hopefully by end of day today (Tuesday) we will have a more definitive answer on the track of the storm. Until then, you're probably safe to move ahead with your Thanksgiving plans, just be mindful to any changes in the weather.
