As parents we have all either threatened to, or actually taken away our kids' electronics, for punishment. Nothing wrong with that, or is there?

A Michigan mom decided her daughter needed to lose her iPhone privileges after getting into some trouble at school. Sounds reasonable, right? Well, her ex-husband didn't think so. He called the cops on her, saying that he actually owned the phone.

She was actually arrested for theft and faced a misdemeanor charge of larceny under $200. If found guilty, that comes with a sentence of up to 93 days in jail.

Luckily for the mom, it turns out that her ex did not own the phone. It legally belonged to the daughter, and because the mom was the guardian to the minor, she had a right to take it away.

Wow... Imagine going through all that, just to teach your child a lesson.
