There has been talk as long as I remember, about the possibility of a merger between the twin cities, Lewiston and Auburn. I grew up in Lewiston, and I know how strong the identities are for each community.

However, according to WCSH, a voter approved commission, to look into a merger, showed a combined city could produce savings of $23-million to $42-million in a decade.

Tonight, the Lewiston-Auburn Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce will host a forum on a current merger proposal, with both sides discussing their positions, and taking questions.

The forum will be at at Central Maine Community College, 5:30pm to 7:00pm.

What do you think?
