New Brew Pub To Open In Location Of Closed Skowhegan Restaurant
If you frequently go out to eat in Skowhegan, you may have noticed that one of the area's most loved restaurant / bars is now closed. After being in business for 12 years, Whit's End closed their doors for good on Friday.
While we are always sad to see a business close, there is some good news. The space, which has been operated as a restaurant for six decades, will not stay vacant for long.
According to an article in the KJ, the building will soon be home to a brew pub.
Brickyard Hollow Brewing, which opened its first location in Yarmouth in 2017, plans to open a new location in the spot that was occupied by Whit's End. This Skowhegan location will be the sixth for the craft brewing company.
In a way, the company opening a location in Skowhegan is almost like returning to their roots. Brickyard Hollow is owned and operated by a pair of Skowhegan Area High School graduates. Brad Moll and Rob Bolduc are both members of the Skowhegan Area High School class of 1990.
The plan is for Hight Properties LLC to purchase the building and then lease it to Brickyard Hollow. Work on renovations is expected to begin soon and they hope to be open sometime in December.
In addition to the new Skowhegan location, Brickyard Hollow Brewing also owns locations in Yarmouth, Freeport, Portland, and Ogunquit.
