Brand New Disc Golf Course Coming to Central Maine

It's one of the fastest-growing recreational activities in not just Maine, but the country. Of course we are talking about disc golf, and there's about to be a new place to do it here in Central Maine.

According to the Kennebec Journal, a new 18-hold disc golf course will be opening this summer at the Quarry Road recreational area in Waterville. Justin Fereshetian, program director at at Quarry Road, has been doing lots of research on the sport and with the help of the Professional Disc Golf Association's website. Justin says he hopes to have the area's newest course open sometime this summer.

Quarry Road Trails are known for their close-to-home location but far-away feel and offer several different recreation options including their most popular Nordic Skiing. And while they'll still be offering all the other great activities Central Mainers have come to love, a disc golf course will help attract even more people to the beautiful outdoor spot.

The course will be 18 holes and they plan to charge $6 for a single round, $10 for a day pass, or $199 for an entire summer season. Eventually they hope to offer discs and gear for sale and rent, but say that those features won't likely be available at the time the course opens.
