New Store Partnership in Auburn as Kohls & Sephora Join Forces

I was driving by Kohls in Auburn, Maine yesterday and had to do a double take when I saw that another Sephora popped up in Auburn.

Retail Dive put out an article in February 2022 stating,

About a year after its announcement that Sephora would open 850 shop-in-shops at Kohl’s stores by 2023, the retailer on Tuesday announced the next 400 locations will open this year. The openings span 36 states and will raise the total number of Sephora shop-in-shops at Kohl’s stores to 600 by the end of 2022.In addition to expanding the footprint of the Sephora concept, the companies are also adding brands to its assortment. Murad, Clarins, Jack Black, Living Proof, Versace and Voluspa will be available through the concept this spring.

And now the store is there. Like magic. Located next to Kohls in Auburn and this is very good news for all of us make-up fans. We've seen an incredible upwards trend of makeup on all social platforms. Many companies have sky-rocketed due to collabs with YouTube Make-Up Guru's and Sephora Beauty is one of them.

However the beauty store is not just next to Kohls, they are in partnership with Kohls.

Kohl’s, which announced its Sephora deal among a host of other strategic partnerships in recent years, says the shop-in-shops are working. The introduction of Sephora at Kohl’s allowed the retailer to not only expand beauty, but also opened up additional space in its stores to invest in casual and active categories. However, the retailer gave no specific metrics to substantiate the concept’s success.

The official Kohls website put out a statement announcing their official partnership with Kohls and that they would be coming to Auburn, Maine soon. The website directs you to the hours and information on the store.

Their is a lot of excitement surrounding the opening of this new Sephora Beauty store. There is currently a Sephora in the Auburn Mall, but this is different, according to Maine woman, Kassi Leigh.

She told me,

I love makeup, I'm obsessed with it & Sephora & am super excited to have a better Sephora up here instead of driving to Portland every time to find what I need or want! Yea, the JC Penny Sephora is convenient, but they don’t have the amount of products the other ones do!!
