New Year’s Day Crash Kills One in Winthrop
A 75 year old man is dead after an accident on New Year's Day on Route 133 in Winthrop. Police are not releasing any information about the driver's identity until family has been properly notified. It was speculated by officials that a 'medical event' may have been the primary factor in the crash.
The accident occurred around 12:50 PM Wednesday when the vehicle reportedly crossed the center line of Route 133 and subsequently drove off the road and crashed near the Savage Hill area. There was also a passenger in the vehicle but did not require transportation to the hospital.
