Police Warn: New Phone Scam Involving Hit-man
There have been reports of a person receiving a text message from an out of state number claiming to be a hit man that has been hired to kill the person. The texter then says in order to end the "hit" they must contact them within 48 hours.
They will send an image of the person taken from social media as proof of the hit. THEN they would receive pictures of "former hits" later proven to be images taken from Google Images.
The police are taking this scam very seriously, and if you receive one of these messages, report it to the police as soon as you can.
