OH my…if this happens, I have a date with Disney + for Christmas Day. I have a few things I want to watch…anyway…back to the point…Senator Angus King is asking the big streaming companies like Netflix, Disney, Hulu, HBO Max, Amazon, and AppleTV + to opening their services for free to everyone to encourage people to stay home for Christmas and binge-watch according to centralmaine.com.

He sent letters to the services to encourage Americans to have something a bit different to do while at home or at least something new to watch while at home.  King pointed out in the letter American are already doing this, but I guess is hoping that if we have a new series to check out for free, it just may be enough to keep a few more people at home.

Will it solve the COVID-19 crisis and stop the community spread? No. Do I think this will change many people’s minds on plans they may have already made? No. But it might give people on the fence a reason to stay at home, and for those of us already staying at home, it would just be a lovely gift to test out some services I have not had before.
