It’s a Strange Day as I Do The Moose Morning Show Alone For The First Time Ever
As everyone knows, yesterday was Renee's last day here at 92 Moose. After more than 30 years of being a dedicated broadcaster and community service champion, Renee is headed south to warmer climates and palm trees. Me? I'm still right here in the studio. I mean, I went home and like ate, showered and slept last night. I haven't just been standing here since she left. You get it, right?
Anyway, here I am. Here I am standing in the same spot I'm always standing in day after day hosting the Moose Morning Show. On the surface, everything seems pretty normal. It seems like Renee is on vacation and I'll be flying solo for a week or two like I have so many other times before. However, that just isn't the case.
As I look across the counter where Renee and her belongings used to be, this is all I see....
Though me being alone in here is certainly a temporary thing, it's still a sad day. Not just for me but for Central Maine, too. We've been waking up to Renee's voice for literally three decades. No matter what the combination of people on the show has been over the years, she has always been the one constant. This will be a huge change.. and one that takes some time getting used to.
While I'm very excited to see where the next chapter takes all of us and eventually meeting the new co-host of the show, nothing will ever replace a 30-year career that lasted from my childhood through graduating high school, getting married, three kids, etc etc... But, we'll all adjust in our own ways!
Godspeed Renee and best of luck in all that you do- we will miss you!
