I have lots of friends who are in the HVAC business and they all start to dread the cold season. Primarily because people go 6+ months without running their homes heating systems and they wait until the house gets COLD to fire them up for the first time...
This morning I woke up around 5 am and after getting out of bed, I thought, it is cold. I checked the thermostat and it read 57 degrees. All of a sudden my biggest fear kicked in, a major issue heading into Christmas.
Holy cow! $1000 worth of home heating fuel...whether it's oil, propane or pellets. You can use your $1000 for heating or plumbing service, too. Or toward a new stove or furnace, from M.A. Haskell Fuel in South China!
When I walked into the radio station this morning, I expected heat after all the sounding we did on and off the air about our chilly climate. I was surprised to find out the temp, which had been 62 yesterday morning, is 60 today!
The question is have you turned on your heat yet? Up until now I had been stubborn and have not. This morning we woke up to an inside temperature of 55 degrees. We had been using a space heater in the living room in the morning and evening to take the chill away for a few days now but it's time to turn on the furnace.
