It would be a lot easier if we could just invent a huge heating pad to wrap around our houses. Hey Elon Musk, this is your challenge. We could call it Musk Wrap, go Musk my house!

Ladies and gentle-dudes, the air is changing, the snow is starting to stick to the ground and my heating pad is plugged in every night because my toesies are freezing.

On a positive note, I haven't seen any browntail moths for weeks. So that's good.

Siri says winter officially begins December 21st but here in Maine but I'm questioning her robot intelligence. My ice scraper already broke and the heat miser is flexing in Bora Bora drinking a pina colada and smoking a cigar.

So I am dubbing it winter, now.

In order to stay warm, many things need to happen, proactively. You have to prepare yourself and your home for when the snow miser arrives.


 

 

When I'm at home and I am cold, I wrap myself up in several layers of clothing, like Ron Swanson from Parks and Recreation. I sometimes am even too cold to look pretty, so there's that.

Moving on, when I moved here from Pennsylvania, Mom and I noticed that people had hay stacked around their houses, we didn't understand why and later learned that it's a tip for heating your house.
