According to U. S. News & World Report, the second best high school in the country is in Maine.

According to their study, the Maine School of Science and Math in Limestone was ranked number two with an overall score of 99.99/100.00

Also referred to as the MSSM or "Magnet" school, it covers grades 9 through 12, has an approximate enrollment of 145, and an 8:1 student to teacher ratio.

The only school that ranked better than the MSSM was the Academic Magnet High School in North Charleston in South Carolina.
