Today is ‘National Walk to Work Day’

Today April 4th (first Friday of April) is ‘National Walk to Work Day’. Let me start off by saying it would take me about eight hours to walk from my home in Auburn to Western Ave. Augusta so for me that wouldn’t work unless we did it as a promotion and I just commuted one way and got a lift home.

When I was younger and lived closer to work I often walked. I think back to when I lived at 28 Weston St. in Augusta and worked at Poore Simon’s and part time at the Moose back both at the Augusta Plaza in 1997 and 1998.

Did you walk to work today? If given the choice, would you? How long would it take you to walk to work at 3.5 miles an hour?
