A new survey, conducted by Ketchum Global Research and Analytics for King Digital Entertainment, found that adults misspelled the cities below over 50% of the time.

Meeteetse, WY – Misspelled by 70%
Kaumalapau, HI – Misspelled by 69%
Saguache, CO – Misspelled by 68%
Skaneateles, NY – Misspelled by 67%
Champaign, IL – Misspelled by 63%
Pflugerville, TX – Misspelled by 63%
Worcester, MA – Misspelled by 62%
Ketchikan, AK – Misspelled by 61%
Winnemucca, NV – Misspelled by 60%
Aquebogue, NY – Misspelled by 56%

The survey also revealed that, we in the Northeast, out spell the South, Midwest and West, when it came to correctly spelling the most difficult cities in their own region.

Survey results also show that both Boomers (50-64 years old) and Millennials (18-34 years old) equally struggled to spell the top 10 most difficult cities.

What about Maine towns/cities? The survey didn't break it down per state, but I bet these might be the toughest to spell in the Pine Tree State.

Damariscotta (Do you remember the second "a"?)
Fryeburg (I have to think, is there an "e" or not?)
    Greene (Same as above)
    Guilford (Ah, there's a "U" after the "G")
    Kenduskeag ("A" after "E" when it follows a "G"... wait that's not a thing?")
    Mattawamkeag (Same as above)
    Meddybemps (Really, there's no "U?")
Minot (It's my nut, not yours!)
    Passadumkeag (You get the idea)
